On the evening of 18th September 2023 NSW Trainlink XPT diesel locomotive stands at Sydney Central on the overnight service to Melbourne Southern Cross. Based on the BR HST this 1982-built machine is rated at the slightly lower 2p and according to the driver will be replaced in about 18-months. Loco 2004 is on the rear and the first carriage has sleeper compartments with ensuite showers.
