Pacific National Class NR No. NR74, built in 1997 at Broadmeadow Melbourne is a Co-Co 4020HP standard gauge diesel, and is about to leave Melbourne Southern Cross on 17th April 2023 with 'The Overland' 08:05 service to Adelaide, a day long working. No. NR74 has 'The Ghan' branding which is short for 'The Afghan Express' which honours the camel drivers that explored Australia in the 1900s.
