The Nuneham Viaduct closure has meant some freight diversions have been routed to the Birmingham area via Cheltenham and Bromsgrove. The Appleford to Milford working is one such but it does not then take the Camp Hill line, continuing instead on the Cross City line through New Street Station. On 1st May 2023, DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66148 Maritime Intermodal Seven has just crossed the Bristol Road and ambles past Whitehouse Wharf in Selly Oak with a rake of flat wagons at the front of the train and containers out of sight at the rear.
