Similar to the Rhine Valley, the Hudson Valley in the US has lines at either side of the river. The Eastern route is used by passenger services but the Westen route is freight-only. CSX GE ES44AH Nos. 3089 (first) and 3114 (third), GE ET44AH No. 3398 (last) and EMD SD70MAC No. 4570 (second) head a roughly mile long northbound freight at Poughkeepsie on 13th June 2022.
