On the 6th January 2022, Merseyrail Class 777 No. 777016 is seen stood in platform 2 at James Street Liverpool where it has reversed while undertaking several mileage accumulation test runs to Hooton along the Wirral Line. The tiled and restored platform is rarely used for passenger services these days as it provides the only connection for trains to connect between the Wirral & Northern lines as this unit had earlier and will again later to access Kirkdale Depot.
