During the two week closure of all eastbound services out of Manchester Victoria in connection with the Trans Pennine upgrade Manchester Piccadilly has played host to Class 802's for the first time as all Liverpool Lime Street services to Newcastle have been terminating at Piccadilly. On the 12th August 2021, No. 802217 is captured stood in platform 6 waiting to form the 12.37 to Newcastle.
