The platform on the left is the exceptionally long platform 1 which found use for long excursion trains with its own exit on the left of the small canopy. Standing in platform 2 is TransPennine class 68 No. 68027 Splendid waiting to work a service to York. In platform 3 is DVT No. 12814 also waiting to work a service to York powered by class 68 No. 68020 Reliance. Finally on Platform 4 is Northern class 170 No. 170456 about to leave with a Sheffield service.
