DRS Class 37 No. 37423 Spirit of the Lakes passes Bare Lane station on 14th August 2020, with the 14.13 Blackpool North - Derby RTC Network Rail test train. This test train circuit around lines in the North West, which operates every four weeks, provides the unusual sight of locomotives on the normally DMU only branch line to Morecambe. Classmate No. 37407 Blackpool Tower was on the rear.
