Class 205 (2H) DEMU No. 1120 is seen calling at Cowden on 25th January 1986 with the 14:24 Victoria - Uckfield service. The footbridge from where this shot was taken and the left-hand track were removed during later modernisation. No. doubt, in view of the ORRs incomprehensible opposition to third rail electrification, this line will require some non-standard means of propulsion if/when the current Class 171 DMUs are transferred to EMR. How have we survived for the last 100+ years?
