In work stained BR blue livery complete with mini-snowploughs Class 31/1 No. 31142 is stabled outside York MPD on 29th March 1978. Delivered in October 1959 as No. D5560 she would work for nearly 40 years being withdrawn during January 1999 but not scrapped, by TJ Thomson of Stockton on Tees, until 2003.
