Dual voltage Class 313 No. 313008 is seen south of Brookmans Park station on 9th December 1977 with a Welwyn Garden City to Moorgate service. Built in 1976 at BREL York Works this unit is still in front line service 43 years later having been renumbered as a Class 313/2 No. 313208, operated by GTR Southern and allocated to Brighton Lovers Walk EMD for Coastway services. It is also still formed with the original three coaches it had when first delivered to BR.
