On the 3rd June 1978, Class 27/0 No. 27040 stands by the fuelling point at BREL Glasgow Works in immaculate condition following a works overhaul. Built as Type 2 No. D5402 she entered service from Cricklewood MPD, London during July 1962 moving to Scotland by 1970. Withdrawn from Haymarket TMD, Edinburgh during January 1986 she was scrapped by Vic Berry in Thornton Yard, Fife in April 1987.
