On the left, the 13:00 LNER service to King's Cross, led by DVT No. 82217, will give Virgin's 12:52 to Euston, formed by Pendolino No. No. 390151, a head start but will reach the English capital nearly an hour earlier, in part due to the WCML service being routed via Birmingham.
