Reflecting on her uncertain future Class 40 No. 40013 awaits her fate in Vic Berry's Yard, Leicester on 11th June 1988 in the company of Class 97/4 No. 97408, formally Class 40 No. 40118, and an unknown Class 47. Amazingly 30 years after this scrapyard image was taken No. 40013 is set to BR mainline operations this autumn operating charter trains over the UK Network initially with Saphos Trains.
