Having just completed a spectacular run from Carnforth hauling the Railway Touring Company's Cumbrian Mountain Express, Bulleid Merchant Navy No. 35018 'British India Line' passes Carlisle station en route to Upperby for turning and servicing on 12th May 2018. The loco under the control of driver Steve Chipperfield and fireman Chris Holmes had crested Grayrigg at 55.9 mph and Shap at 39.4 mph with a load of 11 coaches.
