In atrocious conditions Virgin East Coast Class 91 No. 91101 "Flying Scotsman" leading the 09.03 King's Cross to Leeds failed just after Grantham station. At this point the train was reversing, being driven from the DVT to the platform. The service was terminated. The HST to the right, which was the following 09.08 London to York which fortunately was able like many subsequent services to bypass the failure via platform 4 on 28th February 2018.
