On the 26th June 1982 Class 40 No. 40081 rounds the curve at Moorthorpe unusually working the Sats Only Blackpool to Sheffield service normally the preserve of a Tinsley Class 37.
Single line working was in operation to upgrade the line in anticipation of Leeds to Sheffield services being diverted this way later in the year.
