Although Motor Rail 4wDM No. LR2573 appears to be sitting in a grass field it is actually in service on the Lower Field line at the Apedale Valley Light Railways Stanhope Steam Gala held over the weekend of the 14th and 15th May 2017. Based at Apedale No. LR2573 was involved in a World War 1 re-enactment taking place in the nearby trenches and was ferrying troops and stores around the area.
