In 1985/1986 BR introduced a fleet of 30 BRUFF Road/Rail Recovery Vehicles. On display in 'Rail' mode at an open day held in Kilmarnock Yard on 11th September 1988 is Glasgow Eastfield TMD allocated C997XPX. Believed last taxed to run on UK roads in 1999 C997XPX was sold for scrap from Motherwell TMD in April 2003.
