DBSO No. 9701 leads the 09:00 Derby RTC to Derby RC via Burton-on-Trent, Drakelow East Curve Jn, Branston, Junction, Wichnor Junction and Burton-on-Trent, through the latter as the train returns to Derby RTC on 1st September 2017. The train is powered by Colas Class 37/0 No. 37254 "Cardiff Canton" that is propelling test vehicles No. 999606 No. 72630 No. 99666 No. 99606 and DBSO No. 9701.
