On the 13th February 2016 after light overnight snowfall the driver is seen making his final checks to Class 99 2-10-2T No. 99 7241-5 on Wernigerode Depot, Germany prior to taking the 08:55 service up to the Brocken summit. Of note in this image is the sheer size of this metre gauge loco when compared to the driver. The large pipe running across the buffer beam is for steam heating the coaches when required and painted in white above this pipe is it's last overhaul date 23rd April 2009 at Meiningen Steam Works.
