Three generations of motive power line up next to each other at Carlisle on 13th May 2017. LMS Royal Scott Class 7P No. 46115 "Scots Guardsman" is at the head of the Railway Touring Company "Cumbrian Mountain Express" to Euston via the Settle and Carlisle Line. In the centre road is Network Rail measurement train hauled by Class 43 No. 43013 with No. 43014 on the rear. This was on a Derby RTC to Heaton working and was making a reversal. On the right is Virgin Class 390 No. 390151 working from Edinburgh to London Euston.
