Railway Herald
Northern Class 156460 and 156440 at the rear stand at Heald Green on 1st 1st May 2017. This service was the 11.05 Preston to Manchester Airport service, originally due to originate at Blackpool North but started at Preston due to late incoming stock. The service then suffered a further delay due to points failure south of Heald Green, blocking the airport branch. The consist therefore had to reverse back into the station to allow passengers with flights to catch to disembark and find alternative transport. The points were eventually fixed and the service made it to the airport 67 minutes late.
