National Railways Zimbabwe hired in SAR Beyer Garratts to cover a locomotive shortage during 1980. GMAM 4071 is seen near Dett with the 07:30 Thompson Junction to Bulawayo service on 6th May 1980. Unlike South African Railways practice, these locomotives ran chimney first.
