The Panama Canal Railway has 10 of these F40 Bo-Bo locos aquired from Amtrak for working container trains between Balboa docks Panama City to Colon docks a distance of approx 50 miles .The trains are usually double headed the locos being rated at 3250 hp each on 5th March 2017. This is at Balboa waiting its next work .
