A familiar view now being transformed by electrification. On 8th June 1984 Class 50 No. 50015 Valiant approaches Reading with the 13:40 Paddington - Penzance 'Jumbo' service - loco hauled services introduced to supplement the HST fleet. Valiant lives on in preservation on the East Lancashire Railway.
