A view of Dover Western Docks taken from Shakespeare Cliff on 26th October 1990 finds 2 unidentified Class 411 EMU's making their way towards Dover Marine Station with a service from Victoria. There is much of railway interest in the image starting with Hawkesbury Street Junction Signal Box, middle bottom of image, with alongside to the right the remains of Dover Harbour Station. To the left of the EMU's is the Transit Shed used for rail vehicles using the Cross Channel Train Ferries, the ferry dock being visible above the shed. The white building in the centre was the Lord Warden Hotel used as a stopping off point for passengers en route to Europe, while just visible to it's left is Dover Marine Signal Box and above can be seen Dover Marine Station. The wagons to the right of the image cover the site of Dover Town Station and later Dover Steam Shed. The only operational railway presence left today is the double track line from Dover to Folkestone curving off to the right of shot.
