Built in 1938, Da Lat Railway Station was built in a colonial style reflecting French ownership at the time. This was the terminus station of a metre gauge line from Thap Cham, 52 miles away. The line fell into disuse in 1968 during the Vietnam War. The line from Da Lat to Trai Mat (7km) reopened in the 1990s as a tourist railway.
