Recently transferred from the Western Region, Class 31 No. 31416 retains its white body side stripe applied by Old Oak Common Depot as it prepares to depart from Ipswich with the 12.17 Harwich - Peterborough service on 27th November 1982. Renumbered to 31516 in November 1990, the locomotive was withdrawn in October 2001.
