S&DJR 7F 2-8-0 No. 53809 stands on shed at Ropley on the Mid Hants Railway in light steam on 21st October 2016 the first day of the railway's Autumn Steam Gala. The locomotive was one of the guest engines for the gala visiting from the West Somerset Railway, however, it was unable to take part due to a leaking gasket between the superheater header and front plate, the fault being detected when initially raising steam.
