Over the weekend of 27th/28th January 1990 the bridge spanning the River Sow at Worston between Gt Bridgeford and Norton Bridge was replaced. Class 31 No. 31417 stands on the Down Fast Line on an overhead rewiring train as track is relaid on the Down Slow Line. This bridge has just been widened to accommodate the North Staffs/Down Slow Line as part of the Norton Bridge Diversion Scheme in 2015.
