Northern Class 156 No. 156440 passes Middlewood while working the 10:49 from Manchester Piccadilly to Buxton on a very rainy 26th May 2016. The bridge above at one time carried the Rose Hill to Macclesfield line which also had platforms. This became the Middlewood Way in May 1985 when opened by Dr David Bellamy.
