Class 66/0 No. 66148 at Griffin Wharf in heavy rain on 28th October 2015 loading hard stone aggregate.The train arrived as 04:36 from Acton Yard and is to depart as 12:00 to Theale (United Asphalt).This is the second flow from Griffin Wharf at the moment, the sand train runs to Watford (London Concrete). DB Schenker Rail UK has secured a five year contract with United Asphalt to transport hard stone aggregate from Ipswich Docks and Avonmouth Docks to Theale, Berkshire and is the first time that imported hard stone has been moved from Ipswich Docks by rail. Three services will be completed each week, carrying approximately 1,300 tonnes of aggregate per train. The first service ran from Avonmouth Docks on 12th October carrying specialist skid resistant aggregates imported from Belfast.
