A view inside the Carriage & Wagon Department at BREL Doncaster Works on 5th June 1988 finds Class 108 DMBS No. 53618 plus similar No. 53944 with Class 115 DMBS No. 51894 at the far end undergoing overhauls. Allocated to Bristol Bath Road MPD No. 53618 is allocated to their B966 unit. Built by BR Derby Works in August 1958 she would survive another 3 years in service before withdrawl and disposal at Margam, West Glamorgan, Wales.
