Class 47/7 No. 47710 Sir Walter Scott departs Edinburgh Waverley on 24th October 1984 on the rear of the 15:00 service to Glasgow. New as No. D1939 to LM Western Lines on 15th April 1966, under TOPS it became No. 47496 in March 1974 before its final conversion to Class 47/7 No. 47710 on 7th August 1979. The locomotive was sold to Waterman Railways in May 1994 then resold to Fragonset on 24th January 1997. Withdrawn in February 2007, it was cut up at EMR Kingsbury in March 2007.
