During the period from 1960 to 1962 when the WCML electrification and resignalling took place the former Goods Yard was retained for use by Westinghouse Brake&Signal Co. at Great Bridgeford as a base for their resignalling contract between Crewe Basford Hall and Milford&Brocton and Penkridge via Stafford. All materials were brought by rail from the suppilers and as a consequence the daily Crewe-Stafford Pick Up called. On such an occasion on an unrecorded date in 1961 LMS Clss 8F No. 48256 shunts the yard. Note its train stabled on the Up Slow Line behind the signal box. As an employee of WB&SCo I became resident in the Stafford Area and have remained there ever since! 1961
