To celebrate the East Grinstead Line electrification, a Gala weekend was held at the end September 1987. For £1, a person could have unlimited access to the East Croydon - East Grinstead Line for one of the two days. Several special exhibits were shown off at Oxted Station, one such being Class 33/0 No. 33008 Eastleigh, seen here parked in the south-facing bay on the western side of the station.
