4 Class Re4/4 iv prototype locos were introduced by the SBB in 1982 for a new generation of traction with solid state power control and DC traction motors. Loco No. 10102 calls at Frutigen on the Lotschberg Mainline on 07:15 Brussels Midi-Milan on 3rd March 1994. 3 locos were subsequently transferred to the Sud Ost Bahn in exchange for Standard SBB Class Re4/4 iii locos and 1 went to the Bodensee Toggenburg Bahn
