Oporto tram No. 196 approaches The Town at the Beamish Living Museum on 31st August 2014. Built in 1935 at the Boavista Works of the Oporto Tramways Company in Portugal, it was brought to Beamish in 1989, intended as a source of spare parts. However, its sound condition meant that it was maintained within the Beamish fleet, and took on the South Shields blue and primrose livery in 2012.
