Friday 27th July 1990 finds Class 155 No. 155335 in Regional Railways Sprinter livery approaching Platform 5 at Crewe Station with a service from Manchester Piccadilly to Cardiff General. Built by British Leyland at their Workington Factory in 1988 the whole class of 35 were all allocated to Cardiff Canton TMD but were withdrawn from service shortly afterwards for conversion into single unit Class 153's. Both the vehicles in this unit are still in service, the first vehicle DMSL 52335, now Class 153 No. 153335, is operated by Greater Anglia from Norwich TMD while the second vehicle DMS 57335 was concerted into Class 153 DMSL vehicle No. 153385 and is now operated by East Midlands Trains from it's Nottingham Depot.
