Class 86/6 No. 86608 St John Ambulance at Ipswich on 30th March 1998 behind classmates 86639 and 86615 Rotary International, run past East Suffolk Jct Ipswich from Norwich Crown Point where cab modifications were carried out the previous weekend. Started life as E3180 at Crewe on 2nd October 1965 after being built at the Vulcan Foundry. Under TOPS was renumbered to 86008 on 29th June 1975 and became 86408 on 1st November 1985 and 86608 on 17th September 1989. The AL6 was taken into Crewe Works and re geared and renumbered to 86501 on 19th May 2000.
