For many years many of the Morecambe Promenade-Leeds City trains were in the capable hands of Lancaster Green Ayre allocated LMS Class 4P Compounds. No. 41196, still carrying its prenationalisation-liveried tender and interim style BR number, stands at Skipton awaiting the rightaway on 12:45 Morecambe-Leeds on an unrecorded date in 1950.
