In the early 1980s LMS 'Princess Coronation' Class No. 46229 Duchess of Hamilton was a regular performer on steam specials on the S&C. On an unrecorded date it makes a fine sight hard at work on the 1-in-100 grade on a northbound 'Cumbrian Mountain Express' replete with authentic Royal Scot Headboard crossing the River Ribble at Sherrif Brow No. 1 Viaduct.
