The long-awaited appearance of the first Class 68 on the national network took place on 4th February when it was hauled by EWS Class 90 No. 90020 Collingwood in a consist comprising the locomotive + 11 Mk2 coaches between Carlisle and Crewe - here seen passing Euxton at speed on the outward journey.
