Class 27/2 No. 27203 undergoing a major overhaul inside BREL Glasgow Works on Saturday 3rd June 1978. Major parts of the loco are scattered around as the loco body sits on trestles in a back corner of the works. New to Cricklewood MPD in London, in June 1962 as No. D5393 it was transferred to Scotland by 1970. Converted to a Class 27/1 as No. 27121 in July 1974, a further conversion to Class 27/2 No. 27203 occurred in November 1974 to co-incide with the introduction of the Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh Waverley push pull services. Finally withdrawn from Eastfield MPD, Glasgow, in May 1983, its scrapping was undertaken at Derby Etches Park Depot during February 1986 by a team from Vic Berrys of Leicester.
