Direct Rail Services have taken over from Freightliner the weekday Crewe Basford Hall to Toton North Yard departmental working 6Z96 and its return and the train is pictured passing through Burton-on-Trent on Tuesday 21st January 2014 behind DRS Class 57/0s Nos 57002 and No. 57004. However on this day 6Z96, started as a 14:39 Bescot Up Engineers Sidings to Toton North Yard rather than from Crewe and consisted of 13 wagons (1 x YEA and 12 x JZA). The two locomotives had run as light engines from Crewe in order to work the departmental train. The first day of DRS operation, Monday 20th January had seen the train had run between Crewe and Bescot only therefore this was the first time the DRS locomotives had operated the working between Bescot and Toton.
