Mountaineer sits at the back of Glan y Pwll carriage sheds on the Ffestiniog Railway. Built in 1917 by ALCO for the British Armys use in World War I this 2-6-2T later ran on the Tramway de Pithiviers à Toury in France. It was purchased by a supporter of the Festiniog Railway in 1967. A regular performer for four decades, the locomotive last operated in 2006 and is currently awaiting overhaul.
