Slim Jim Crompton Class 33/2 No. 33201 has just arrived at the temporary terminus of Irwell Vale at the East Lancs diesel gala on 7th July 2002. Irwell Vale was being used as a temporary terminus because of flooding which had damaged bridge supports on the line to Rawtenstall. All trains were having to be top and tailed to Irwell Vale because of the lack of run round facilities there.
