The closure of the WCML during mid August between Warrington and Balshaw led to the diversion of freight services over a variety of routes. The Chirk - Carlisle empties were diverted via Manchester leading to the sight of paired 56s, Nos.56087 + 56105, passing Buckshaw on 1st 4th July 2013 as the train approached Euxton Junction where it re-joined the normal WCML route.
