The GCR Summer Steam Fayre 'Trains, Cranes & Mail by Rail', on 6th July 2013, brings the seldom seen opportunity to watch crane lift demonstrations at Quorn and Woodhouse Station yard. First up was the Quinto Leibherr modern crane, which completed the lift of one of the 'Windcutter' fleet open mineral wagons easily and quickly. Taking a little longer is this Ransomes & Rapier 45t steam crane No. RS1097, built in 1939 at Ipswich.
